75 Years of Potash Engineering Made in Erfurt –

35 Years of Global Engagement

Three-quarters of a century of successful planning, consultancy and expert assessment for the potash industry –with nearly half of that time spent on the international stage –provides us with yet another excellent reason to organise an

International Symposium from 17 to 19 June 2027 at the Congress Center Messe Erfurt

on the topic of

Potash and Rock Salt: Raw Material and Host Rock

to facilitate discussions with colleagues from Germany and abroad on the current challenges facing the mineral salt industry, as well as the creation and utilisation of underground cavities for backfilling, the disposal of hazardous waste and radioactive waste, and special mining projects in saline host rock.

We will send you an invitation with the detailed programme in due course, but please mark the date in your calendar now.

Our symposium is taking place concurrently with the 50th Krämerbrückenfest in Erfurt.

As demand for hotel rooms in Erfurt and the surrounding area is expected to be high during this period, we recommend making your reservation directly with the hotel well in advance.

If you have any enquiries regarding our symposium at this stage, please send an email to 75_35@ercosplan.com or simply call us at +49 361 3810510.

Kind regards and Glückauf!

Employees, management and shareholders of the ERCOSPLAN Group of Companies

By the way …

  • Erfurt boasts a 500-year history in mining and mining consultancy: in 1527, the fourth edition of the “Nützlich Bergbüchlin” by Ulrich Rülein von Calw – the first German-language work on state-of-the-art mining techniques – was published by Johann Loersfelt at the ‘Zum Färberfass’ house in what is now Pergamentergasse. At that time, the Krämerbrücke already bore its present-day name and had been rebuilt in its current form following its destruction in the great city fire of 1472.
  • our 75th anniversary marks the founding of the Zentralen Projektierungs- und Konstruktionsbüro für die Kaliindustrie und den Nichterzbergbau (ZPKB) in May 1952 –the first independent entity dedicated to providing engineering support to the East German potash industry. The ZPKB had its origins in the planning group of the Erfurt branch of the Staatlichen Aktiengesellschaft KALI, which was founded in 1949 and was based in the former General Post Office at Beethovenplatz 3.
  • our 35th anniversary marks the founding of ERCOSPLAN Erfurter Consulting- und Planungsbüro GmbH on 19 May 1992, which commenced operations on 01 July of the same year.
  • the Krämerbrückenfest is also taking place at the time of our double anniversary; an annual cultural highlight of city life, the festival is itself will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. All the more reason for you to accept the invitation to our anniversary event in Erfurt. We look forward to seeing you here!
